Reviews
The best decision I made when moving to Madrid
I came to Madrid not knowing a single person and honestly, I was pretty scared of feeling alone. But at The House that's basically impossible — from day one there are people from everywhere: Germans, Italians, Americans, French... They organise dinners, nights out, plans around the city, and before you know it you've got a real group of friends. It completely changed my experience — I came thinking it would be a tough year and it turned out to be the best year of my life. If you're looking for a real international vibe and meeting genuine people, this is the place.

Unbeatable location, you can't ask for more
Barrio de Salamanca is on a whole other level. Everything is walkable, you're 10 minutes from El Retiro, the metro is right there, the best restaurants are around the corner and you feel safe at any hour. My friends living in other parts of Madrid are seriously jealous... Honestly, if you're going to live in Madrid for a year or two, it really pays to be in a great area, and The House has one of the best locations you'll find. For me it was the deciding factor.

Truly all-inclusive — and they really do mean it
When I was looking for a residence, the most overwhelming part was thinking about everything I'd have to sort out: wifi, cleaning, furniture, food... At The House you arrive and it's all there. The room is fully furnished and equipped, the wifi runs perfectly (a lifesaver when you have online classes or group projects), the AC works great and the morning buffet breakfast is amazing. I don't have to think about anything — just my studies and enjoying myself. For someone moving from abroad that's priceless, I really mean it.

The common areas are insane (in the best way)
I'd been looking for ages for a residence with more than just a boring study room, and The House blew past my expectations. They have it all: study rooms that are actually well-designed, a cinema room, a screening area for watching matches or anything with friends, a sports room, a music room with instruments, a huge fully-equipped kitchen for when you fancy cooking... Every time I come back from class I find a new spot to hang out. I never get bored at home, and that says a lot.
Luca Rossi – Italy
My roommate is now my best friend
I don't know how to put this without sounding like a movie, but it's true: my first-year roommate at The House is now my best friend. We started as two complete strangers with totally different schedules, not knowing if we'd get along, and we ended up inseparable. Sharing that space, the exam stress, the late nights laughing about nothing... it builds a really special bond. Now we each have our own room but we still hang out every day. The House gave me far more than just a place to sleep.

What's living at The House of Madrid like?
Unique. Vibrant. Collaborative.

How do I book my place?
Very easy.
Just write to us at info@thehouseofmadrid.es or use the contact form. We will respond within 24 hours with availability and next steps.
What are The House's opening hours?
The House is open 24/7 throughout the 10-month academic year. Residents can come and go at any time using their personal key and access code.
Do you check whether residents sleep at The House?
The House team looks after student safety and family peace of mind, checking daily that residents are coming back. Families are notified after a resident has been away for more than 3 nights.
Can residents bring visitors to The House?
Residents can welcome family or friends during the set visiting hours. Visitors aren't allowed to stay overnight or enter the bedrooms, but they can enjoy all the common areas.
How are rooms and roommates organised?
At The House we have plenty of shared rooms. We pair roommates by gender, by class schedule (morning or afternoon programmes) and by the type of degree they're studying.
Why is a shared room a good idea?
For many residents, The House is their first step away from home, so sharing a room with someone in the same situation makes it much easier to settle in and never feel alone. Plus, the rooms are spacious, fully furnished and all come with a private bathroom.
How do I book a room? Is there a waiting list?
To book at The House just send us an email, fill in the form, or message us on WhatsApp. We prefer a personal conversation — that way we can really listen to what you need and answer every question — over an online booking system where things tend to slip through the cracks. We see ourselves as a Premium Residence, and welcoming new residents personally is at the heart of what we do.
What contract options do you offer (monthly, annual, semester)?
Stays are annual, covering 10 months. You can choose the Annual Payment option (a single payment with the most favourable rates) or the Quarterly Payment option, paid in three-monthly instalments.
How much is the deposit and when is it refunded?
The deposit is €990 and is refunded at the end of your stay.
How do I book a room?
To book at The House, just follow these steps:
1. Send us an email, fill in the form, or message us on WhatsApp.
2. We'll send you all the details about rooms, services and prices.
3. Complete the enrolment forms and make the first payment: Registration (€605), Deposit (€990) and the first month for your chosen room and meal plan — Half Board (€340) or Full Board (€475).
Can I cancel my booking? What's the cancellation policy?
Residents can request a cancellation in writing using the relevant form before 10 July 2026. Payments will be refunded in full, except for the booking fee and deposit, which The House of Madrid retains.
The House of Madrid is more than just a place to live. It's the first step in your professional development.
Be part of a genuine community where you'll share hobbies, ideas and unforgettable moments — building friendships that will last well beyond your university years. Here you won't just move forward in your studies; you'll build experiences and memories that stay with you for life.
